About Adam

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Victoria in 2009, a Bachelor of Education in Social Sciences from University of Victoria in 2013, and a Master of Education in Adult Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2016 from University of Toronto. I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW), a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), a Validated Supervisor with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (cert-S) OAMHP, and a registered teacher in British Columbia, Ontario, and the Yukon Territory.

Growing up in Prince Edward County and living in mid-to-large cities across Canada, I have worked with a variety of populations ranging from hard-to-reach inner city clients, adult survivors of childhood trauma, and the LGBTQQ2S+ community, which has fostered a sincere understanding of the various daily life challenges and struggles.

Practicing from a collaborative therapeutic model, drawing from such modalities as Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, and Schema Therapy, the focus of my clinical experience has been directed toward the age range of 21 – 85(+) with presenting issues relating to attachment trauma, depression and general anxiety, childhood physical, psychological, and sexual trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and gender/sexuality-related issues.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
