About Adam

I am honoured to live and work within the Traditional Territory of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2009) and a Bachelor of Education in Social Sciences (2013), both from the University of Victoria, and a Master of Education in Adult Counselling and Psychotherapy (2016) from the University of Toronto. I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and an Ontario Validated Clinical Supervisor (OVCS) with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). I am also a certified teacher in British Columbia, Ontario, and the Yukon Territory.

Raised in Prince Edward County, Ontario, and having lived in urban centres across Canada, I’ve also spent over a decade returning to Dawson City, which now serves as one of the home bases for my practice. My clinical experience includes working with hard-to-reach populations, adult survivors of childhood trauma, and members of the LGBTQQ2S+ community. As a gay man, I am deeply committed to cultivating a therapeutic space that is affirming, grounded, and emotionally attuned – where clients feel heard, safe, and understood.

My work is guided by a collaborative and integrative model of care, drawing from Attachment Theory, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Psychodrama Therapy, and Somatic approaches. I primarily support adult clients (ages 21–85+) navigating concerns related to complex trauma, depression and anxiety, grief, identity and sexuality, and the long-term impacts of psychological, physical, and sexual trauma.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
