About Cari

Working with individuals ages 18+ with presenting concerns related to anxiety, caregiver stress, chronic pain, dependency, existential and spiritual distress, grief / loss (including perinatal bereavement), isolation / loneliness, life transitions, loss of autonomy, self-acceptance / self-esteem, spiritual injuries, and traumatic experiences.

Practicing from an integrative and client centred approach, I incorporate a variety of techniques and tools from Attachment-Based Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy to best suit your needs and therapy goals.

Collaboratively, we will evaluate how your early life experiences and relationships have shaped your beliefs and values about yourself and the world. We will unpack the stories you tell about yourself and interpret the meanings you have assigned to them. We will identify exceptions to your presenting problem and uncover alternative stories present in your life. We will work to emphasize your strengths, build your resiliency, and enhance your ability to cope with life’s challenges.

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in History and English Language and Literature from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Publishing from Simon Fraser University. More recently, I obtained a Certificate in Thanatology (the study of dying, death, grief, and bereavement) from Conestoga College, and I am currently completing a Master of Psychospiritual Studies (MPS) degree through Knox College at the University of Toronto. I am the Knox College Student Representative for the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and am a student member of both the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC) and the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
