About Elizabeth

I work with clients aged 7+ with presenting concerns related to anxiety, career, spiritual, and life challenges, depression, family and relationship issues, identity issues, self-esteem issues, sexuality and gender related issues, and substance misuse / use. I specifically enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and members of the LGBTQQ2S+ community. I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) while integrating aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Feminist Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. What does this all mean?

In session, you can plan on sharing your experiences while being asked to explore your behaviours, emotions, feelings, and thoughts about these personal accounts. We will work together to identify what you believe about yourself, your relationships, and the world. Utilizing a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to counselling we will focus on the exceptions to the problems so you can begin to rewrite your life narrative(s). Developing skills related to self awareness and understanding will contribute to an improved quality of life.

I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lakehead University and am completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am currently a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

Note: Elizabeth is currently offering services on a sliding scale ranging from $80 – $130 per 50-minute session. The initial intake session will be $80, during which time you and Elizabeth will discuss subsequent hourly rates and plan the duration (i.e., number of sessions and for what calendar period) this will occur.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
