About Penelope
If you are feeling overwhelmed, lost, anxious, or are searching for greater understanding or purpose, you are not alone. Connecting with a therapist can deepen your understanding of yourself and help you tap into your greatest resources. I work with individuals 18+ who may find themselves contending with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, or not feeling seen or understood. If you have noticed a pattern in relationships, work, or despite best efforts, you find yourself learning the same lessons over again, it is courageous to explore something that may have begun to feel unmanageable on your own. I practice Psychodynamic Psychotherapy which encourages you to speak your mind as freely as possible. I consider sessions to be time for you in a confidential space where you are invited to explore thoughts and feelings with the shared focus of a collaborative and attuned listener. Over the course of this longer-term talk therapy, we work with deepening curiosity toward authentic, meaningful engagement with yourself and your world. Coping strategies, conflicting belief systems, and patterns established before awareness was present can come into view and make way for new, healthier, and self-informed choices. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy (CAPT). I graduated from the rigorous six-year academic, experiential, and practical program at The Centre for Training in Psychotherapy (CTP) and have been practicing since 2020. Named a Graduate Fellow at CTP, for two years I led foundational first- and second-year seminars as well as co-lectured on the history of trauma. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia. Drawing on thirty years as a writer and performer, I bring a creative lens to my perspective and practice.

Cancellation Policy
When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.
In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.
Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
