About Tim
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with specialized training as a music therapist, I work with clients age 7+ with presenting concerns related to anxiety and depression, career and life transitions, gender and sexuality related issues, grief and bereavement, peer relationship, and self-esteem. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and the LGBTQ2S+ community. My therapeutic modality is eclectic and draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Analytic Music Therapy (AMT), Creative Music Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I take an anti-oppressive, person-and-culture-centered, trauma-informed, strength-based approach that seeks to balance the systematic challenges with individual growth. I am dedicated to co-creating a collaborative and inclusive space based upon curiosity in support of exploring your behaviours, feelings, and thoughts in addition to your goals and needs. Working together, sessions will be responsive to your unique needs and foster alternative approaches aimed at building resiliency, enhancing your ability to navigate life challenges, deepen your self-understanding, and developing additional coping strategies. As a music therapist, I have discovered the integration of music as a helpful resource for promoting relaxation, nurturing self-discovery, and supporting emotional expression. Music can also provide an alternative avenue for accessing deeper connections and insights that we struggle to use words to express. We will explore various creative modalities that resonate best with you. No experience or background in music is required to participate in music therapy I completed my Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Certified Music Therapist (MTA, MT-BC) member with the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT).

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.
